AI agents edit your notes. You set the rules.

With orgthread in between, AI agents never touch your Markdown or Org files directly. Every change is checked against your rules, logged, and can be undone.

How it works

Every change an AI agent wants to make passes through orgthread, which applies your rules. It has four parts:

  1. Owner rules: you decide who may touch what.
  2. Safe writes: every change takes a lock, checks that the file is still fresh, makes a backup, writes a log entry, and can be undone.
  3. The outside-text guard: text from mail and the web is data, not orders.
  4. Nightly checks: every night, orgthread checks the folder and tells you what it found.

Where it runs

On your own computer, or on a server you run yourself. No third-party service holds or reads your files.
